Mood boards...

Wikipedia definition:
A mood board is a type of poster design that may consist of images, text, and samples of objects in a composition of the choice of the mood board creator. Designers and others use mood boards to develop their design concepts and to communicate to other members of the design team.
It would be a good idea to create your own mood board and think about location (for film or photography), costume, colour theme, font design, casting (film) etc.

Here are a few examples:

Once you have completed your mood board - upload to your blog (either a digital mood board or hand made one - photograph of!) and discuss some of your initial ideas found in it.

Have fun and good luck:)

Posts so far...

Hello everyone:)

Here is a comprehensive list of the sort of posts you should have so far and should have completed by Monday when I see you next.

  • Introduction - what will she be doing - magazine.
  • Initial research - two magazines - one of her choice and a music magazine examining audience, cost, features, differences etc.
  • In depth front cover analysis of a music magazine labelling features.
  • Uploading preliminary task - school magazine front cover and contents page +evaluation of that.
  • Research magazine industry and the company IPC media.
  • Brainstorm/plan potential names for magazine
  • Market research - a questionnaire/research into what the target audience want from the music magazine she plans to do (survey Monkey is a good one and she can e-mail the link to me and I will get the class to fill it in)
  • Re-design a front cover (this may not be possible as she will need access to Photoshop.
  • Watch a Photoshop tutorial and blog about how she will use the skills
  • Mock up of her magazine
  • Plan the photo shoot for the magazine
  • Take the photos and upload the images - analysing whether they have been effective/which are the best.
If you need any advice or help with any of these then see Mr Boulton Lear in lesson or e-mail me. Obviously if you are doing film - hopefully you have the list I put on the board on Tuesday but if not - it is the same sort of thing but tweaked to suit film. E.g. research working title films not IPC media etc.

Good luck everyone and remember - detail and analysis.
